Dear Friends,

The PCC has taken the decision to shut St Mary’s Church for the foreseeable future due to safety reasons after a series of problematic plaster falls in the church, which have worsened in recent months. It has been a hard decision to make, and one we have not taken lightly, and we do this with a heavy heart. Unfortunately, the building needs urgent repairs and it is not safe to use in the meantime. At this point it is not possible for us to know when the building will be available for use again and this could take many months due to the shortage of lime plasterers in this area, and the need for St Mary’s to fundraise. We hope and pray we will be successful in our endeavours. We place our trust in God who is faithful and who will be with us as we work very hard to progress things as quickly as possible.  Going forward, we will be conducting all Sunday services in the Cabin, with the kind permission of Bishop Stephen, until repairs can be done. Do keep us in your prayers, and we will keep you informed with our progress with regular updates and news of fundraising events.

God Bless,
Clare

All are welcome to come and sing coronation anthems, including the one newly commissioned for King Charles’s coronation next month. And of course, all are welcome to join us for the short concert following the rehearsal, beginning at 6pm.
