Dear Friends,

I have been struck this week how suddenly the leaves on the trees seem to have appeared. And how beautiful and fresh they look! We are truly blessed to be living in such beautiful countryside and I am enjoying experiencing the changing seasons for the very first time here. It will be another first for many of us this weekend: the coronation of our new King, Charles III. Our late Queen was crowned over 70 years ago, witnessed for the first time by a TV audience of many millions. My mother remembers crowding around the only to set in her village with friends and neighbours to watch grainy black and white images of the service at Westminster Abbey. In our digital age, this historic moment will be broadcast around the world, watched not only on TVs and larger screens, but also on our mobile phones! We will be marking the Coronation weekend with two special services: On Sunday 7 May in Hardwick, following a joint Holy Communion service with Caldecote at the Cabin at 11am, there will be a bring and share lunch. All are most welcome to join us. And at 5:30pm on Sunday 7 May, we will be holding a special Choral Evensong at Dry Drayton church to mark the Coronation. All are most welcome to join us for this special occasion.

However you are spending this Coronation Bank Holiday weekend, I hope you have a wonderful time.

God Bless,
Clare
