VE Day, 1940s themed fete Sat 13th June from 12 noon to 4 pm at St Mary’s, Hardwick. Alongside the usual stalls and games there will be an exhibition of WWII memorabilia, ‘40s vehicles and a display of 1940s shops. You can also experience an ‘air raid’ in an Anderson shelter, learn to be a spy and attend a wartime school. Come in ‘40s dress if you like! Lunches will be served from 12 noon; afternoon teas from 2.30. The Rectory Garden will be open throughout the afternoon with donations towards St Mary’s Community Hall fund.
