Summer is here, and after a very cool wet spring, we have warm weather at last! We are very blessed to be living in such a beautiful part of Cambridgeshire, and it has been lovely watching each season unfold. The beauty of God in creation is breathtaking in all its diversity. Our churchyard in particular is an incredibly beautiful and tranquil place. It is very encouraging to see the wildflower areas developing. At Wild Church last month we discovered that there are more wildflowers in the churchyard this year, which is very exciting. We have lots of daisies, buttercups, cow parsley, wild dog roses, cornflowers and poppies, nettles and dandelions. Going forward, we hope to encourage more biodiversity. The churchyard is also home to many different species of wildlife and insects, including black squirrels, foxes, rabbits, crows and small birds and of course our family of moorhens in the pond. A recent Bat survey has found evidence of Pipistrelles, Brown Long eared Bats and rarer Serotine Bats around the church, and a dusk survey is being undertaken early this month to learn more about them. Why not come in and take a wander, to see what you can spot?
