Dear Friends,
On Monday this week, we woke up to the news that there had been a devastating earthquake in the early hours, affecting Syria and Turkey. As the week has unfolded, the horrific scale of the destruction has become clearer and the loss of life, huge. As I write, 12,000 are already confirmed dead with the number expected to keep rising. Our thoughts and prayers are with the countless number of families desperate for news of their loved ones:
Loving Lord, we pray for all those affected by this terrible earthquake in Syria and Turkey. We pray for all those who have lost their loved ones and their homes. We pray for those who are trapped in collapsed buildings; for all those waiting for news; for emergency workers as they dig through impossible piles of rubble to save others; and for aid to be delivered swiftly. Amen.

All welcome to this service of ashing to mark the start of Lent, led by Revd Clare.
Advent Quiet Morning Saturday 26 February, 9:30-1pm
All are welcome to come and join us in quiet prayer and reflection, marking the start of Lent at St Peter and St Paul’s Dry Drayton, led by Revd Clare Coates.
There will be a service of Morning Prayer at 9:30am in the Celtic tradition with lots of space for quiet prayer and reflection throughout the morning. There will be a prayer walk around the village as well as prayer stations in the church. Or just come and sit in stillness. We will regather for refreshments from 12:30 before closing in prayer.
