Our church community has been very much alive and well in Hardwick throughout the pandemic. However in response to the winter lockdown and rising Covid cases we have decided reluctantly to suspend in-person worship again and go entirely online instead for the time being. From 10 January, a Worship at Home audio service will be available each Sunday from 9am (see post below) and a written version will be available by 6pm the day before. The church building will be open for private prayer on Sundays from 9.30am until dusk. Weekday Morning and Night Prayer are taking place on Zoom. We’ll try to keep you up to date with what we are doing on this website, or for more up to the minute information join the Facebook group or subscribe to our weekly email (details under ‘About us’)

We have two main worshipping communities or congregations.  One meets on Sunday mornings for anyone, and the other on Tuesday Mornings during term time for under 5s and their carers.  There is also a small group who meets mid-week to say morning prayer together.

We hold special services for the village to mark the seasons.  These include Harvest Thanksgiving in October, Remembrance Sunday in November, a whole range of Advent and Christmas services, then services around Holy Week and Easter.

The village church has been the venue for Christian ‘rites of passage’ such as christenings, weddings and funerals for those who live here (or for whom it is a special place) for 100s of years.  We keep the building in good repair and the church community alive so that we can continue to provide these opportunities to Hardwick’s residents and friends.

You can find out more on the other tabs in this menu including who to contact if you’d like to speak to someone about a service or joining a congregation.  Or just come along.

Details of each month’s public services are posted on the website, in the church porch and on the noticeboard, and are in the Hardwick Happenings village newsletter.   Or join our mailing list for a weekly email about what’s coming up – contact alisonmyers@lordsbridge.org
