Almost every Sunday morning at 9:30am we hold a service in the church to which anyone is very welcome.  On a usual Sunday there are between 20 and 35 people, and though some people come every week, that is not the case for everyone.

Two or three times a month we celebrate Holy Communion, and on the other Sundays, we have Morning Worship or an All Age Service. All these services use the contemporary words of Anglican ‘Common Worship’ and the service lasts about 55 – 65 minutes. Music is usually accompanied by the organ, though we love to sing to other instruments too when musicians are available.  Our repertoire includes traditional hymns, some more contemporary songs and Taize chants.  Children are welcome with their families. We try to provide simple activities for children in the area at the back of the building during parts of the service and/or take them out to Sunday Club in the Cabin. And if it is easier with your children to just stay for part of the service, then that is fine too.

For those for whom worship in person is not the best option, we have the Lordsbridge Zoom service every week at 11.00am, led and hosted by a team from across the parishes. For information on this please see the Lordsbridge website.

When there is a fifth Sunday in the month (which happens four times a year) we join with neighbouring villages in the Lordsbridge Team of Churches for a united service to worship with a wider group of friends, and to make new ones. Different churches in the group take it in turns to host the service.

At all our Sunday morning services, there is a children’s area at the back which you are welcome to use.  Do bear in mind that as children get older it may be better for them to sit nearer the front where they can see, particularly at the monthly ‘all age’ services.

We serve refreshments after each Sunday service, usually in the Cabin behind the church.  This is a great opportunity for us to chat and get to know each other better.  In good weather, families (and others) often make use of the outdoor space, taking their coffee with them.

Details of each month’s services are posted on the church noticeboard near the road or in the church porch and are in the Hardwick Happenings local magazine.

Other styles of service nearby

For those who appreciate a more traditional service, sung evensong from the Book of Common Prayer, for the congregations in the Lordsbridge Team, is held on the first Sunday evening of every month at St Peter and St Paul’s Church in Dry Drayton from 5.30pm.

Facilities

We have toilets and a kitchen in the Cabin, just behind the church. There are no toilets in our ancient church building.

Wheelchairs can access the church via the main door where there is a shallow ramp and cars can be brought close to the church door by arrangement.  There is space for wheelchairs in the open area at the rear of the pews, and ordinary chairs can be set out there too.  The Cabin (and its toilets) is fully accessible.
