Fun at the scratch nativity – “It’s well good news – honest!”

Last Sunday’s scratch nativity was chaos, but lots of fun!  All ages joined in, in one way or another.  Tea-towels and tinsel were much in evidence.  Kings came in all shapes and sizes. Last year’s adult sized donkey was back for more, and was joined this year by a

camel driver complete with camel.  img_20161211_095703-2A large woolly sheep joined the shepherds as well as a much smaller lamb, and a there were a couple of horses in the stable!  We had a fantastic origami star to mark the stable.

It has the repeating refrain: “We bring good news, it’s well-good – honest!
There’ll be a baby born, just as God promised.”

The poem finishes with God’s promise to restore human beings as his friends through the Jesus, who grew up from a baby to be a man powerful enough to make our wrongs right by dying and then coming back to life.
