All Christians living in the villages and towns west of Cambridge are invited to gather for the annual celebration at Comberton Leisure on Sunday 25 November at 10.30.  This service is supported by the local Anglican team churches, the Baptist, Methodist and independent churches, Cambourne Church and this year, for the first time, the Cambourne Catholic congregation.  We gather to celebrate our diversity, recognising that we worship the one God and that together we serve him in this area.

Our title this year service is ‘Big Hearted’, with speaker Revd Chris Duffett, President of the Baptist Union, (and son of Lordsbridge clergy team member Revd Paul Duffett), exploring our response to God’s love for us inspiring mission to those around us.

I’ve been invited to lead the service.  Its format is a service of the word with both spoken and sung words of praise, confession, forgiveness and intercession.  There will be an all-age slot at the beginning before the children leave for their own session led by GenR8, which many of them will know from school.  There will also be an unstaffed creche area with video link.

Music will be provided by a united choir with Ian Harris, organist at Bourn in the Papworth Team, and Steve Gaze co-minister of Hardwick Evangelical Church, employing a range of musical styles from traditional hymns to more contemporary Western music via the world church.  The choir is open to anyone interested in singing.  (See blog entry below for more details about the music and an invitation to join the choir.)
